Lactation

I have done my Certified lactation educator counsellor (CLEC) from UCSD ‘s extension program. Though it gave me the knowledge to educate, all the skills I acquired are by handling at least 3000 babies at the private hospital I worked at in Coimbatore. I’m forever indebted to those mother baby dyads I met in the early years of exploring this nascent field.

Currently my area of focus is severe breastfeeding issues such as birth trauma & tongue ties. I can help you in 2 ways to achieve your breastfeeding goal. I have a lactation and infant care class that you can attend when you are pregnant (preferable after 2nd trimester) which will give you everything you need to know when baby arrives. I also have postpartum lactation counselling that you can take up if you are facing issues In your breastfeeding journey.

After evaluation we work closely with a preventive paediatric dentist Dr Shifa Shamsudeen of We little dental, on getting the issues diagnosed and we both work together with the client to resolve the issue with suck training and and intra-oral exercises, body work or sometimes a minor surgical procedure and then the client gets back to us for latch assessment and the breastfeeding progress.
